Baseball Game Preview: Grants Pirates vs. Belen Eagles

The Grants Pirates are taking a road trip to square off against the Belen Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grants is coming into the game hot, having won their last 11 games.

Grants had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Highland on Friday. The Pirates blew past the Hornets 11-1.

Meanwhile, Belen got themselves on the board against Valley on Wednesday, but Valley never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Vikings. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Belen's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Grants, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.

Grants skirted past Belen 3-2 when the teams last played on April 10th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
