Softball Recap: Crooksville Has No Trouble Against Coshocton

Crooksville came out on top against Coshocton on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run fourth inning. The Ceramics were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Redskins. The Ceramics haven't had any issues with the Redskins recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Dalena Rollison made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Crooksville let Mylin Driggs and Rylee Chamberlin run wild. Driggs went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Chamberlin went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two stolen bases gave Driggs a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Goodin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Crooksville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matches.

Crooksville's record is now 12-3. As for Coshocton, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Looking ahead, Crooksville will face off against Fort Frye at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Coshocton, they will square off against Philo at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
