Baseball Recap: Monterey Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Monterey was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They came up short against the Holden Rockets, falling 17-1. The Wolves were not able to make up for their loss to the Rockets from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Monterey saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryan Tillman, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Monterey and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Holden, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Monterey will host Delta Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Monterey has given up an average of 15.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Holden, they will head out to face off against Block at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
