Preview: Prairie Hawks vs. Dubuque Senior Rams
The Prairie Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dubuque Senior Rams on Monday. Prairie has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 489 points over their last seven matches.
Last Friday, Prairie strolled past Liberty with points to spare, taking the game 71-52. 71 seems to be a good number for Prairie as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Dubuque Senior faced Cedar Falls in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Dubuque Senior might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 55-37 to Cedar Falls, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Dubuque Senior has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Prairie's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Dubuque Senior, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-3.
Prairie was dealt a bruising 68-12 loss at the hands of Dubuque Senior in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Prairie was down 40-10.
