Volleyball Recap: Cherryvale Comes Up Short

Cherryvale lost against Frontenac last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Chargers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-7.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Frontenac to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laynee Shay, who had five aces and four digs. Those five aces gave Shay a new career-high.

Cherryvale's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Frontenac, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8-1.

The future could be bright for both Cherryvale and Frontenac: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Chargers will look to extend Columbus' six-game losing streak when they meet on Saturday. Meanwhile, Frontenac will try to hand Southeast their third-straight loss when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on October 2.
