Softball Recap: Sierra Timberwolves vs. Mountain House Mustangs

Sierra extended their losing streak to 12 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-12 in the process. They lost 14-2 to the Mountain House Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-1 back in March.

Sierra saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maitland Khoutek, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Mountain House, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

On Mountain House's side, Haylie Townsley spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. Townsley has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Isabel Obaob was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidy Townsley, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Sierra wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-0 loss against Patterson on the 24th. As for Mountain House, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 defeat against Vintage on the 24th.
