It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Darien ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Ridgefield Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blue Wave have posted against the Tigers since April 26, 2021.

The win made it two in a row for Darien and bumps their season record up to 14-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Ridgefield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Darien is set to face off against their familiar foe McMahon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Ridgefield will square off against rival New Canaan at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 4.1, the Rams 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
