Not much got past Trinity Leach, who gave up just a hit and racked up 17 Ks to keep Huckabay off the board. With that strong performance, Leach is now averaging an impressive 6.4 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, Faith Perry was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Lilly Ruddy, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4.
Graford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .424 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Lipan can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against Santo by a score of 8-4.
Ella Sharp made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off 12 hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Macy Castillo, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (two). Gentry Kirkland was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
Lipan's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Graford, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Graford has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lipan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Graford took their win against Lipan when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. Will Graford repeat their success, or does Lipan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
