Softball Recap: Hammond Comes Up Short

Hammond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 23-1 to the Ponchatoula Green Wave. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tornadoes of the 19-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Hammond's loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Ponchatoula, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hammond will welcome St. Scholastica at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ponchatoula, they will face off against Kaplan at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Ponchatoula has won five straight at home, while Kaplan won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
