Basketball Recap: Reed-Custer Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Reed-Custer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Prairie Central Hawks. The Comets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Reed-Custer still got an impressive performance from Alyssa Wollenzien, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Wollenzien is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season.

Reed-Custer now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Prairie Central, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Reed-Custer will face off against Streator at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Prairie Central, they will head out to square off against Normal University at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
