Volleyball Game Preview: Washington Huskies vs. Albany Cougars

The Washington Huskies will challenge the Albany Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Washington comes in on five and Albany on three.

Washington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over St. Joseph Notre Dame.

Washington had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Albany posted their closest victory since April 7th on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Encinal 3-2.

Albany took Encinal into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-20, 25-17, 26-28, 15-13.

Albany's win bumped their record up to 22-14. As for Washington, they pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Washington beat Albany 2-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
