Fairfield Union hasn't had much luck against Sheridan recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Generals at 5:00 p.m. Fairfield Union is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
Fairfield Union barely beat East Knox the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons blew past the Bulldogs 14-4 on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Falcons needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Jaxon Iser looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Fairfield Union saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Dilcher, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Dilcher a new career-high. Braxton Rowles was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Fairfield Union always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Sheridan waltzed into their game on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They had just enough and edged out the Raiders 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Generals have posted against the Raiders since May 1, 2019.
Camdyn Packer was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, Noah Wamer was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Sheridan: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was James Solomon, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Fairfield Union has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sheridan, their record is now 14-4.
Fairfield Union might still be hurting after the 15-5 defeat they got from Sheridan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
