Volleyball Recap: Quad Cities Christian's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

If Quad Cities Christian was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Varsity Opponent on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Quad Cities Christian took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westlake Christian Academy on Friday. The match marked the first time this season in which Quad Cities Christian was not able to get on the board.

When it comes to explaining why Quad Cities Christian lost, don't look at Zeke Lizano. Despite the final result, he had 14 digs and three aces. Lizano is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last 18 games he's played dating back to last season.

With the defeat, Quad Cities Christian broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-3. As for Westlake Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Quad Cities Christian and Westlake Christian Academy will both be playing Oakhill Christian the next time they take the court. Westlake Christian Academy will host Oakhill Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, while Quad Cities Christian will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
