Baseball Game Preview: Antioch Sequoits vs. Grant Community Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Antioch will face off against Grant Community. The Sequoits will take on the Bulldogs at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Antioch 4.1, Grant Community 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Grant Community will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Antioch extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Sequoits blew past the Bulldogs 8-1. The Sequoits not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 9-0).

Antioch got a great performance from Ben Clausen as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Evan Schmidt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Rubin, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Antioch's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Grant Community, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-5.
