Basketball Recap: Wonderful College Prep Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Granite Hills, the Wolves were happy to have turned things around on Saturday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 65-49 victory over the Wonderful College Prep Academy Lions. Considering the Wolves' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The Wolves' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Demetrio Alvarado, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 assists. Jose Morales was another key player, putting up 17 points along with five boards and three steals.

With the win, the Wolves broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for the Lions, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Wolves will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against the Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. The Lions will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against the Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
