Amherst's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Assumption Royals 17-5. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Sully Perkins was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was AJ O'Brien, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Amherst has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Assumption, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Amherst will look to defend their home field on Monday against Shiocton at 4:30 p.m. As for Assumption, they are taking a road trip to square off against Stratford at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
