Baseball Game Preview: New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly Vipers vs. Lincoln Railsplitters

The New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly Vipers will head out to face off against the Lincoln Railsplitters at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly has four straight victories, Lincoln has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Saturday, when they got past Liberty's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Vipers blew past the Eagles 15-4.

Meanwhile, Lincoln didn't have quite enough to beat Metamora on Friday and fell 3-2.

New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.

New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Lincoln in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Vipers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
