Recap: Kennedy Cougars vs. Laguna Creek Cardinals
The Kennedy Cougars lost against the Laguna Creek Cardinals back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Kennedy took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Laguna Creek. Kennedy has struggled against Laguna Creek recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Aharon Young and Dondre Prothro certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Young scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Prothro scored 16 points.
Kj Ramey was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds for Laguna Creek. Ramey hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. Jalen Flenory was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists and four steals.
Kennedy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-13 record this season. As for Laguna Creek, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.
Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Laguna Creek, they will head out on the road to square off against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 592 points over their last eight games.
