Preview: Somerset Tech Jaguars vs. Highland Park Owls
Somerset Tech is 0-3 against Highland Park since December of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Somerset Tech Jaguars' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Highland Park Owls at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Somerset Tech comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
On Monday, Somerset Tech suffered a tough 41-21 loss at the hands of Dunellen. While losing is never fun, Somerset Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 387th, while Dunellen is ranked 156th).
Highland Park suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They were dealt a 61-24 defeat at the hands of Westfield.
Somerset Tech bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Highland Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Somerset Tech took a serious blow against Highland Park in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 73-18. Can Somerset Tech avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
