Basketball Recap: Lee Christian Comes Up Short

If Lee Christian was feeling good fresh off their 79-27 takedown of Bradford Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lee Christian Falcons had to suffer through a 83-49 loss at the hands of the Crossroads Christian Colts. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Colts recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Justin Brown and Daniel Rumbold certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Brown almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards, while Rumbold posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Luke Railo, who scored seven points.

Crossroads Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josh Smith, who went 7 of 9 en route to 19 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kobe Edgerton, who had 11 points and six assists.

Lee Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Crossroads Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Lee Christian has already played their next game, a 70-48 defeat against Cape Fear Christian Academy on the 28th. As for Crossroads Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Bradford Academy on the 28th.
