Baseball Recap: Martinsville Comes Up Short

Martinsville lost against Lawrenceville back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bluestreaks took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians.

Ayden Houpt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Martinsville has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Lawrenceville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Martinsville will host Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lawrenceville, they will square off against Newton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
