Basketball Game Preview: Lakeview Sailors vs. Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers

The Lakeview Sailors will square off against the Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lakeview has 16 straight wins, Chartiers-Houston has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Lakeview is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Friday. They took down Rocky Grove 72-53. The game was the first time the Sailors have beaten the Orioles on their court since February 5, 2019.

Meanwhile, Chartiers-Houston was just a bucket shy of victory last Wednesday and fell 48-47 to Northgate.

Lakeview will need to focus on slowing down Justus Buckingham, one of several Chartiers-Houston players who made an impact when they last played. He went 9-for-15 on his way to 22 points. Those 22 points gave Buckingham a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Perchinsky, who posted seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Chartiers-Houston's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Lakeview, their victory bumped their record up to 20-5.
