Football Game Preview: Heritage Coyotes vs. McKinney North Bulldogs + How To Watch

The Heritage Coyotes will square off against the McKinney North Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since August 29.

Heritage is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Reedy on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Coyotes were dealt a 45-7 defeat at the hands of the Lions. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 533rd, while the Lions are ranked 99th).

Despite their loss, Heritage saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Chris Allen, who threw for 188 yards and one touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Derrick Johnson also helped out with an impressive 94 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, McKinney North was able to grind out a solid win over Centennial on Thursday, taking the game 27-14. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 27-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Titans cut but never quite recovered from.

McKinney North's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.3 points over those games. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Heritage couldn't quite get it done against McKinney North in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 as they fell 38-31. Thankfully for the Coyotes, Greg Ard (who rushed for 146 yards and a pair of TDs) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
