Salida hasn't had much luck against Lamar recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Spartans will square off against the Thunder at 3:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Thursday, Salida made easy work of Florence and carried off a 3-0 win. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
One reason for the win was Salida's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18, 25-12.

Cooper Fisher had a dynamite game, getting 20 digs and five aces. What's more, she posted two assists, the most she's had since back in August.
Fisher wasn't the only good servers: Salida was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Lamar got the win against St. Mary's on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.
Lamar was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-13.
Salida's record is now 7-4. As for Lamar, their record now sits at 5-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's matchup: Salida has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Lamar struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Salida might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Lamar when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
