Recap: Opp Bobcats vs. Greenville Tigers
The Opp Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Greenville 66-61. The contest was a 24-24 toss-up at halftime, but Opp was just barely outscored by Greenville in the second.
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josh Smith, who scored 18 points. DJ Hines was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
Opp has fallen quite a ways from their 18-9 record last season and are now at 1-5. As for Greenville, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Opp will take on Red Level at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Red Level presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Opp in Alabama (Red Level is ranked 130th, while Opp is ranked 308th). As for Greenville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Calhoun at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Calhoun focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday.
