Maddex McConnell leads a balanced attack to beat Maxwell

Recap: Paxton Tigers vs. Maxwell Wildcats

The Paxton Tigers waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 43-30 victory over Maxwell. That's another feather in the cap for Paxton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Paxton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddex McConnell, who scored 11 points along with three blocks. McConnell hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Eakins, who scored 13 points.

Paxton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Maxwell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.

Paxton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Platte at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st. Maxwell will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Perkins County at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
