Football Recap: Trinity Christian Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Trinity Christian and Briarwood Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Trinity Christian had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Buccaneers, falling 51-9. The Crusaders just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Despite the loss, Trinity Christian still got an impressive performance from Tayt Evans, who rushed for 74 yards and one score. Evans was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards.

Cutler Fleming continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Briarwood Academy, rushing for 196 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 185 yards and three TDs. What's more, Fleming racked up 140 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September. Caden Johnson was in the mix too, providing Briarwood Academy with one score.

Trinity Christian now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Briarwood Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Trinity Christian will square off against Lovett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' defense has only allowed 11.9 points per game this season, so the Crusaders' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Briarwood Academy, they will take on Brentwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers will need to watch out since the War Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games.
