Basketball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Crandall's Winning Streak

While it was all tied up 12-12 at halftime, Crandall was not quite Midlothian Heritage's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell 36-27 to the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Jaguars are ranked 133rd).

Ava Batty was her usual excellent self, putting up 16 points for Midlothian Heritage.

The loss snapped Crandall's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-9 record. As for Midlothian Heritage, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Crandall and Cedar Hill will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Midlothian Heritage, they will face off against Richardson at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Richardson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Midlothian Heritage likes a good challenge.
