Softball Recap: Plymouth North Gets the Win

While Plymouth North's victory against Whitman-Hanson Regional wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Panthers 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since May 15, 2024.

Chloe Stasinos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Stasinos was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

Stasinos wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Walter, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Another was Maggie Fabry, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Plymouth North's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Whitman-Hanson Regional, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plymouth North will venture away from home to challenge Hingham at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Whitman-Hanson Regional, they will head out to square off against Marshfield at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
