Basketball Recap: Mountain Range Comes Up Short

If Mountain Range was feeling good fresh off their 73-50 takedown of Prairie View last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mountain Range Mustangs fell 77-68 to the Green Mountain Rams on Saturday.

Green Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Simon Lunsford led the charge by going 6 for 13 en route to 18 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Lunsford has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Swanson, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 16 points.

Mountain Range has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Green Mountain, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Mountain Range will square off against Riverdale Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Green Mountain, they will challenge Dakota Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Dakota Ridge comes in on four and Green Mountain on three.
