Recap: Franklin Christian Academy Falcons vs. Summertown Eagles
The Franklin Christian Academy Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 78-64 bruising from Summertown. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Wednesday (59), Franklin Christian Academy still had to take the loss.
Leading Summertown to victory were Grayson Burleson and Kurt Burleson. Burleson dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Burleson dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Burleson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Mabry, who scored seven points.
Franklin Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Summertown, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Knowledge Academies at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Summertown will finish 2023 at home by hosting Perry County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Perry County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Tuesday.
