Baseball Recap: Jones Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jones can now relate to. They came up short against the Perquimans Pirates on Tuesday, falling 14-2. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Jones' loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Perquimans, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Jones does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Perquimans, they will square off against Tarboro on Friday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
