Football Game Preview: Mart Panthers vs. Lovelady Lions + How To Watch

Mart is a perfect 4-0 against Lovelady since November of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mart is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 40-6 victory over Cumby. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mart to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carmelo Medlock, who rushed for 137 yards and one score while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Medlock is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Another rusher making a difference was Ah'Maad Scott, who rushed for 90 yards and one TD on only ten carries.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lovelady). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 76-21 victory over Evadale. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Lions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Rebels are ranked 1015th).

Mart now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Lovelady, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Everything came up roses for Mart against Lovelady in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 57-20 victory. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
