Volleyball Game Preview: Platteview Trojans vs. Wahoo Warriors

The Platteview Trojans will take on the Wahoo Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Platteview comes in on ten and Wahoo on three.

On Tuesday, Platteview got the win against Ralston by a conclusive 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Platteview was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-2, 25-11.

Wahoo not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 2nd (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Beatrice.

Wahoo walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-14, 25-19.

Platteview better focus on containing Elena Estudillo and Chloe Thomas as the pair were huge in Wahoo's win. Estudillo had 19 digs and three assists, while Thomas had 14 assists and eight digs. That's the most digs Estudillo has posted over her last six matches.

Wahoo was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive contests.

Platteview's victory bumped their record up to 21-3. As for Wahoo, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.

Platteview was able to grind out a solid victory over Wahoo when the teams last played back in September, winning 3-1. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
