Volleyball Recap: Pope's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games + How To Watch

It was a good run, but Pope unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alpharetta Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Greyhounds of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

Pope was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-22.

Despite the loss, Pope still got an impressive performance from Wynnie Abney, who had 19 digs and two assists. Abney has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Among those leading the charge was Susie Dai, who had 13 assists and seven digs.

Pope's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Alpharetta, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.

Coincidentally, Pope and Alpharetta will both be playing Blessed Trinity the next time they take the court. The Greyhounds will head out to face the Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Raiders will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
