Basketball Recap: Atkins Starts Season with Win Against Sacred Heart

Atkins gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They snuck past the Sacred Heart Rebels with a 59-54 victory. The Red Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rebels, too.

Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Connor Stokes, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Parham, who earned 13 points.

Sacred Heart is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Coincidentally, Atkins and Sacred Heart will both be playing Two Rivers the next time they take the court. The Rebels will head out to face the Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Red Devils will host them at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
