Baseball Recap: Keyser Finds Home Field Redemption Against Berkeley Springs

There's no place like home for Keyser, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Berkeley Springs Indians a 5-0 shutout on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Golden Tornado: when they faced off against the Indians last Monday, they had to take a 7-3 loss.

Landon Tysinger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tysinger was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Sawyer Rodeheaver tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

Back at the plate, Cole Holland was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Keyser's record is now 6-17-1. As for Berkeley Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-26.

Coming up, Keyser will face off against Robert C. Byrd at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Berkeley Springs, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Grace Academy at 12:00 p.m. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight.
