Baseball Recap: Fairfield Prep Falls Short Against Ranked La Salle Academy

Fairfield Prep is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of La Salle Academy. The Jesuits fell 5-2 to the Rams. The matchup marked the Jesuits' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Fairfield Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Rotondo, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Rotondo also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Fairfield Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for La Salle Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield Prep will face off against Hand at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Jesuits surely won't give up without a fight. As for La Salle Academy, they will take on Fitch at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
