Baseball Recap: Chugiak Falls Short Against Ranked South Anchorage

Chugiak faced South Anchorage in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Mustangs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Chugiak saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Cage, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Chugiak has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for South Anchorage, the win keeps they at an undefeated 12-0.

Coming up, Chugiak will be playing in front of their home fans against Eagle River at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South Anchorage, they will head out on the road to take on Wasilla at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
