Basketball Recap: Westminster Academy's Loss Ends 11-Game Winning Streak at Home

Westminster Academy entered their contest against Southern Coast Academy National on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Westminster Academy Lions took a 96-88 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southern Coast Academy National Rams. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (85), the Lions still had to take the loss.

Westminster Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alex Constanza, who dropped a double-double on 41 points and 11 boards. Constanza is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 15 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexander Lloyd, who went 9 of 18 on his way to 30 points.

Westminster Academy's defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-6. As for Southern Coast Academy National, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.

Westminster Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Stranahan at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Stranahan will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Westminster Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Southern Coast Academy National, they will venture away from home to challenge Balboa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern Coast Academy National knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matches -- so hopefully Balboa likes a good challenge.
