Basketball Game Preview: Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers vs. Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers

Mount de Sales Academy hasn't had much luck against Central Fellowship Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers will welcome the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers at 3:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Mount de Sales Academy came up short against First Presbyterian Day and fell 46-34. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Payton Latimer, who posted four points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Jordan, who put up seven points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Mount de Sales Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Central Fellowship Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 67-27 victory over the Knights. The Lancers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 23 points or more this season.

Central Fellowship Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Mount de Sales Academy, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-6.

Mount de Sales Academy might still be hurting after the 63-37 loss they got from Central Fellowship Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mount de Sales Academy was down 43-12.
