Soccer Game Preview: Peotone vs. Herscher

Peotone hasn't had much luck against Herscher recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Blue Devils will challenge the Tigers. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Peotone's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Joliet Catholic by a score of 2-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Peotone were the better team in the second half.

Allie Werner and Peyton Bisping scored both of Peotone's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 51 goals.

Meanwhile, Herscher had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Bishop McNamara 8-0 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Herscher, who have now won 12 games by four goals or more so far this season.

Peotone is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 59 goals over those ten contests. As for Herscher, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-3-2.
