Basketball Recap: Lawrence County Finds Home Court Redemption Against Sumrall

There's no place like home for Lawrence County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 56-49 victory over the Sumrall Bobcats on Friday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Bobcats are ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lawrence County's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Sumrall, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Purvis the next time they take the court. Lawrence County will head out to face Purvis at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while Sumrall will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
