Baseball Game Preview: Centennial Eagles vs. La Salle Falcons

Centennial is 1-7 against La Salle since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will head out to face off against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Centennial will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

While Centennial's win against Gresham wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Gophers 8-6. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly two runs.

Connor Martin looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Logan Landolt was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Centennial is undefeated when Landolt posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise. Aiden Welsick was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for La Salle, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against Cleveland on Thursday as they made off with a 14-2 victory. The matchup marked the Falcons' most dominant win of the season so far.

Centennial's record now sits at 4-6. As for La Salle, their record is now 4-8.

Centennial suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to La Salle when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
