Baseball Recap: Veritas Christian Triumphs

Veritas Christian took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Heritage Christian Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Chargers on Thursday. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 9-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Veritas Christian got a great performance from Lincoln Baum as he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Baum has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Veritas Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Veritas Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they will host Paola on Tuesday.
