Baseball Recap: IMG Academy Blue Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but IMG Academy Blue ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Inspiration Academy Red Lions 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Ascenders have posted since April 2nd.

Grant Thunberg looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chase Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Fletcher King also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

IMG Academy Blue's record is now 15-10. As for Inspiration Academy Red, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

As of now, neither IMG Academy Blue nor Inspiration Academy Red have any future games scheduled.
