Basketball Game Preview: New Mexico Military Institute Colts vs. Socorro Warriors

The New Mexico Military Institute Colts will venture away from home to challenge the Socorro Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

New Mexico Military Institute easily dispatched Loving on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. New Mexico Military Institute fell just short of Portales by a score of 52-50 on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Colts in their matchups with the Rams: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Socorro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 56-44 to Tularosa.

Socorro's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for New Mexico Military Institute, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-7.
