Baseball Game Preview: Lapel Bulldogs vs. Hamilton Heights Huskies

The Lapel Bulldogs will face off against the Hamilton Heights Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Lapel's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Hamilton Heights has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

On Friday, Lapel needed a bit of extra time to put away Pendleton Heights. They had just enough and edged out the Arabians 5-4. Surprisingly, this marked the Bulldogs' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Ray Smith was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Novak, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Hamilton Heights' offense. They lost 7-0 to University on Tuesday.

Hamilton Heights' loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Lapel, their victory bumped their record up to 15-1.

Hamilton Heights' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lapel hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370. It's a different story for Hamilton Heights, though, as they've only averaged .224. Will they be able to contain Lapel's hitters?

Lapel beat Hamilton Heights 6-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
