Recap: Opp Bobcats vs. Brantley Bulldogs

This season hasn't been kind to the Opp Bobcats, who are still winless after their 11th game. They had to suffer through a rough 61-32 loss at the hands of Brantley. Opp has not had much luck with Brantley recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amilianna Cooper, who scored five points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cooper has scored all season. Kianna Barnes was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.

Brantley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Grimes out in front who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Grimes has scored at least 25% of Brantley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of CoCo Stamps, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Opp bumped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Brantley, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Opp won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pike County at 5:30 p.m. on January 5th. Pike County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
