Basketball Recap: Indianapolis Arsenal Technical Comes Up Short

Indianapolis Arsenal Technical was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Southport Cardinals and fell 78-10. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while the Cardinals are ranked 131st).

NATANYA EDWARDS was Indianapolis Arsenal Technical's leading scorer, having posted five points. EDWARDS also led the team in rebounds with three.

It was another big night for Kassie Mcmasters, who shot 7-for-12 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 35 points and ten boards for Southport. Mcmasters is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nola Linson, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 10 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Indianapolis Arsenal Technical's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Southport, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Indianapolis Arsenal Technical will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Heritage Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 6th. Southport also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Martinsville at 1:30 p.m. on January 4th. Southport is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.
